Open Lab Hours

July 6-10

  • Monday-Friday: Open Lab, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-5:00 p.m.

July 13-31

  • Monday-Friday: Open Lab, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and limited access from1:00-5:00 p.m.

Reserve Space

The ESDC offers a range of flexible spaces for meetings, events and hands-on activities — supporting everything from team collaboration to larger gatherings.

The shop is closed Monday through Friday from 12:00–1:00 p.m. for lunch and is also closed on University holidays.

Machining & Fabrication

  • Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., and 1:00-5:00 p.m. (Select nights open to 8:00 p.m.)

Rapid Prototyping

1502 Bainer Hall

  • Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Cleanup begins 30 minutes before closing. No new projects or machine use can begin during this time.

Requirements for Access

To use the shop, you must have:

  • ANSI Z87+ rated safety glasses (available at the MU Bookstore and Ace Hardware in downtown Davis)
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Long pants
  • Long hair tied back and loose clothing or sleeves secured
  • Jewelry removed before operating tools or machinery
