In early 2015, the idea to turn the College of Engineering’s Fabrication Lab into an expanded Design Center where aspiring engineers can ideate and create in a technologically advanced and modern facility was hatched. With the support of visionary philanthropists, the expanded ESDC builds on the current machine shop, electronics lab, wood shop and 3D printing space to include areas for instruction, student-client collaboration, rapid prototyping, machining and more.

In April 2021, Diede Construction Inc. started expanding and renovating what is the most exciting project the College of Engineering has launched in decades.
